3TA/ACT Series Centrifugal Blowers

Nee.

AKB / CAKB Series Kinetic Blowers

The AKB is rated for up to 40,000 hours of service life depending on the application and operating conditions. This is made possible by permanently greased hybrid ball bearings and a non-contacting impeller with no wearable internal components.

The AKB is a high-speed blower that operates at up to 13.500 RPM using a synchronous permanent magnet motor. This motor technology has no standard fixed operating speed and requires a variable frequency drive to start, control, and run correctly. The VFD is also what enables continuously adjustable output to match your exact process demands.

AKB stands for Airtech Kinetic Blower, a high-speed kinetic blower product line.

The AKB is the standalone high speed blower unit, which requires integration with an external VFD/PLC, and control system. The CAKB is a fully packaged, plug-and-play system that includes the blower, integrated VFD/PLC, main switch, HMI, sensors, and monitoring and is ready to install and operate without additional control panel engineering.

The AKB is controlled via its integrated VFD/PLC and supports all major industrial communication protocols and interfaces, including analog signals, digital I/O, and fieldbus options. It is external PLC compatible and adjusts continuously to meet real-time application demands.

No. The AKB is virtually maintenance-free. Permanently greased hybrid ball bearings and a non-contacting impeller eliminate scheduled lubrication, oil changes, and internal wear components. No routine service is required under normal operating conditions.

The AKB is a high-performance replacement for conventional rotary vane compressors, claw pumps, and regenerative blowers. It delivers superior efficiency, lower noise, and maintenance-free operation in a more compact, lighter package: with no oil, no wearable components, and no scheduled service.

The ultra-dynamic titanium impeller combines high strength with excellent temperature stability, enabling the AKB to operate efficiently at high rotational speeds. Titanium’s strength-to-weight ratio allows for precise, lightweight impeller geometry that maximizes aerodynamic efficiency without sacrificing durability.

Yes. Oil-free operation ensures no contamination risk in food contact or processing environments. The AKB’s quiet, maintenance-free design is also practical for production facilities where cleanliness, uptime, and noise levels are critical.

Standard units are designed for air and non-corrosive gases. For applications involving alternative gases or aggressive environments, contact the Airtech team to discuss custom configurations.

VCX / PCX Dry Rotary Claw Series

A dry rotary claw pump uses two claw-shaped rotors that counter-rotate inside the compression chamber without touching each other or the housing. This non-contacting design eliminates the need for oil lubrication in the compression chamber, delivering completely oil-free air. The rotors are synchronized by an integrated gearbox, and gas is trapped between the claw profiles and the housing wall, then compressed and discharged.

Choose a dry rotary claw pump when you need oil-free operation, high flow per horsepower, and low maintenance in a single unit: particularly for vacuum applications deeper than regenerative blowers can reach, or pressure applications where you need more flow than a rotary vane can provide without stepping up to a large compressor. For applications involving liquid carryover or condensable vapors, a liquid ring pump is more appropriate.

The VCX is configured for vacuum applications, reaching down to 27 in. Hg, and includes a discharge silencer and sound enclosure for low noise operation below 84 dBA. The PCX is configured for pressure applications, delivering up to 30 psi, and includes an integrated inlet filter and silencer in a compact, self-contained package. Both models share the same claw pump platform and top out at 353 CFM, but are optimized for opposite ends of the pressure/vacuum spectrum.

Yes. All VCX and PCX models are fitted with inverter-duty rated motors, making them fully compatible with variable frequency drives. VFD operation enables continuously adjustable speed for process control, reduced energy consumption at part load, and soft-start capability to reduce mechanical stress at startup.

No. A built-in relief valve is standard on all VCX and PCX units: the VCX includes a vacuum relief valve to prevent dead-heading, and the PCX includes a pressure relief valve to protect against over-pressure. External protection components are not required.

The compression chamber is non-contacting and requires no internal lubrication or wear-part replacement. The only scheduled maintenance is gearbox oil changes every 3,000–5,000 operating hours. Inlet filter changes are recommended every 1,000 hours or as needed. This makes claw pumps significantly lower maintenance than rotary vane pumps, which require oil changes, and periodic vane replacement.

Yes. The VCX is well suited for medical suction and central medical vacuum systems. Oil-free operation eliminates contamination risk. For healthcare installations, verify that your specific system configuration meets the applicable medical vacuum standards for your facility.

Yes. Both VCX and PCX models can be supplied in a gas-tight configuration for handling specialty or hazardous gases, or with a corrosion-resistant lining for aggressive chemical environments. These options make the claw pump suitable for applications such as soil vapor extraction, and process streams involving reactive or corrosive gases. Contact your Airtech representative to discuss configuration requirements.

Dry rotary claw pumps deliver more CFM per horsepower than most comparable vacuum technologies, including rotary vane and liquid ring pumps at equivalent vacuum depths. The non-contacting design also means compression efficiency does not degrade with internal wear over time, maintaining consistent performance throughout the service life of the unit.

3AL / 3AV Series Liquid Ring

Yes. The 3AV is VFD compatible and can operate down to 40 Hz. Variable speed operation reduces energy consumption during low-demand periods and enables finer control of vacuum levels in process applications.

All 3AV models feature a stainless-steel impeller as standard. Wetted components are available in both stainless steel and cast iron depending on application requirements and corrosion exposure.

The 3AL features a stainless-steel enclosure as standard, making it suitable for wash-down applications in food processing, healthcare, and pharmaceutical environments.

The 3AL includes an internal water tank and full recirculation system. Once the tank is filled, water consumption is limited to 0.06 GPM during operation to accommodate water loss due to evaporation.

Unlike dry-running technologies such as regenerative blowers or claw pumps, liquid ring pumps use a rotating ring of liquid as the compression medium. This design inherently tolerates vapor carryover, and small particulate contamination without damage: making it the right choice for wet or condensing process streams.

Airtech liquid ring pumps have a quiet, compact, close coupled design which operates in the 65–72 dBA range. .

Yes. The 3AV features a variable port design that allows a single-stage pump to draw down to 29 in. Hg vacuum levels that typically require a two-stage unit. .This reduces system cost and complexity without sacrificing performance.

Yes. Mechanical seals are standard on all liquid ring models. Seal kits are available to extend service life and simplify maintenance when seal replacement is required.

Liquid ring pumps are the preferred solution wherever the process stream contains moisture, condensable vapors, liquid carryover, or light particulate contamination. Key markets include healthcare (medical and dental suction, pharma sterilization), food processing (marination, meat processing, distilling), and industrial automation (plastic extrusion, vacuum forming, molded pulp).

L-Series, KRF Series Rotary Vane Vacuum Pumps

Choose the L-Series when your application requires deep, reliable vacuum (to 29.9 in. Hg) and you can accommodate basic scheduled maintenance. The L-Series is the right choice for high-flow, heavy-duty continuous operation where vacuum depth is the primary requirement and potential oil contamination of the exhaust is acceptable.

Choose the KRF when a clean, oil-free airstream is required: such as medical suction, food contact, or pharmaceutical applications, or when you need both vacuum or pressure from a single unit. The KRF is also the better choice when minimizing maintenance is a priority. Note that these models are not suitable for deep vacuum applications or dirty, particulate-laden air.

The L-Series requires oil and oil filter changes every 2–6 months depending on operating conditions, and exhaust filter replacement annually. Vanes should be inspected and replaced every 30,000–40,000 operating hours. Service kits and complete overhaul kits are available. Semi-synthetic oil is recommended and only requires changing every 750–1,000 operating hours.

Yes. Service kits for routine maintenance and complete overhaul kits are available for L-Series pumps. Vane replacement kits are also offered separately. Contact your Airtech representative for part numbers and service intervals specific to your model.

Yes, VFD operation is compatible with rotary vane pumps and can be used to adjust speed for energy savings or process control. Consult your Airtech representative to confirm frequency range compatibility for your specific model and application.

Dead-heading means the pump continues to run with the inlet fully closed or blocked, a condition that damages many other pump types. Rotary vane pumps, and the L-Series in particular, are designed to handle this condition and actually run cooler and more efficiently when dead-headed, making them well suited to applications where the vacuum demand varies or the system periodically reaches full vacuum.

Lubricated rotary vane pumps (L-Series) use oil to lubricate the vanes and internal surfaces, which allows deeper vacuum and higher flow at the cost of routine oil maintenance and a small amount of oil carryover in the exhaust. Oil-free rotary vane pumps (KRF) use self-lubricating vane materials that require no oil, delivering a completely clean airstream with less maintenance: but at shallower vacuum depths and lower flow capacities.

The L-Series includes an integrated oil filter and is designed for robust, continuous industrial operation, inlet filtration is recommended for heavily particulate-laden air streams. The KRF includes an integrated inlet filter for basic particulate protection.

Yes. These series are available with or without a motor, making it easy to pair with your own motor or fit into an existing drive arrangement. Multiple motor starter options are also available.

The L-Series features a built-in coalescing filter to minimize exhaust contamination, achieving 99.9% oil-free exhaust. An integrated oil filter provides additional protection. For applications requiring a completely oil-free airstream, the KRF series is the appropriate choice.
